Hong Kong Students Protest

. Hong Kong (China), 29/09/2014.- Pro-democracy protesters occupy the busy intersection of Nathan Road and Argyle Street during the mass civil disobedience campaign Occupy Central, in Hong Kong, China, 29 September 2014. Several areas of the city including Central, Admiralty, Causeway Bay, as well as Mong Kok in Kowloon, were locked down by Occupy Central civil disobedience teams who fanned out across the city blocking major thoroughfares as well as side streets, with rip ties, metal barriers, police road cones and any other street furniture available to hand. The protests followed a decision last month by China’s top legislative body to restrict the nominations for chief executive in 2017. The candidate who wins the popular vote would have to be formally appointed by the central government before taking office. (Protestas) EFE/EPA/ALEX HOFFORD
